Pont de Val Riverside Escape – Neil + Eilene Wedding
Neil & Eilene tied the knot at the magnificent Pont De Val in Parys! Below is a little bit more about this amazing couple and their journey together!
It was December 2010 when Neil and I met. My cousin’s friend had arranged a weekend away at his family’s holiday home next to the Vaal River. I agreed to join them, not knowing that her friend had invited Neil as well. I first saw Neil walking tall and very confident and thought to myself “typical jock”. Quite the opposite was true for Neil, he had a very modest “beautiful” first impression of me (or so he claims). As the night went by Neil tried to woo me through conversations, but I was not having any of it and gently shrugged it off. At the end of it all he greeted me with a “bye gorgeous”. A few days later I received a text from him, and from there on we spent a considerable time doing everything Vanderbijlpark and Meyerton had to offer (haha). I got stuck in my studies again shortly after the holidays ended, after which Neil also moved to Pretoria and that’s where it all really started.
After nearly seven years (what felt like a lifetime), we decided to go for a day trip in the beautiful Drakensberg Mountain Range in Limpopo. Lekgalameetsi Nature Reserve is a place we always envisioned to visit during our time in Hoedspruit. We grabbed a map from reception and started making our way past all the interesting sites the Reserve had to offer. Finally we decided to head up the highest peak of the reserve to explore the views from above. As always I was busy trying to capture the perfect scenery shot with my camera and when I turned around, I found Neil on one knee asking for my hand in marriage. I started giggling and through the tears said no (as it took him ages to come to this point), where after I very quickly replied with a yes. Later I found out that Neil had had the ring hiding in the house for nearly six months before he popped the big Q!). Every moment together is better than anything either of us had ever imagined. If we could do it all again we wouldn’t change a thing. Same goes for the wedding – our hearts were bursting and words cannot describe how much we treasure these special moments together with friends and family.
Our plan for the future is to make every God given moment count and love unconditionally, with no regrets.
Thank you very much for choosing me to capture your special day! I wish you guys a lifetime of happiness together!
