We met in March 2012 when James asked me for a sip of my drink at a party called Tour de Melrose. We had so many mutual friends and acquaintances, that it was bizarre that we hadn’t met before.

Black Horse Brewery – Marius +Clare Wedding

Black Horse Brewery – Marius +Clare Wedding

Marius & Clare tied the knot at the magnificent Black Horse Brewery in Magaliesberg. Below is a little bit more about this amazing couple in their own words.
We met for the first time at a business meeting where my best friend and I presented a new logo design to Marius and his father, Louis, who were business partners in a beautiful boutique hotel. My best friend laughed because she said I would not stop telling her how good looking he was after the meeting. Our paths crossed again a couple of weeks later when we both started working at the same company together. It was love at first sight…
After being engaged for about a year, Marius and I had a short four year break. The timing was just not perfect and we both had to grow a bit before taking that final step. We both never stopped loving each other during our separation and it was so perfect how our paths came together again with a love that is truly unbreakable. I have never seen or experienced the loyalty, love and respect that we both share in our relationship!

Rebellie Game Farm – Clarens – Wesley +Bailey Wedding

Rebellie Game Farm – Clarens – Wesley +Bailey Wedding

Wesley & Bailey tied the knot at Rebellie, just outside the picturesque Clarens! This was a special wedding for me as I know the family well, having photographed Bailey’s mom’s wedding a few years prior! Nicer people you cannot find and it was a privilege for myself and my wife to spend time with this amazing couple and their friends and family, documenting a very special occasion. It was also my very first new year’s wedding so it really was a special one for me! Below is some more about this fantastic couple in their own words!
Wesley and I went to the same High school, so technically we knew each other then, but we never really socialised, he was too shy to talk to me. A few years later I came across his profile on Instagram and I sent him a message, definitely made the first move. From then, we chatted and met up, just a few days before I was off to Bushmans for my parents wedding, and he went off to Mauritius for work. A few weeks later we reunited and spent every day together, we just connected and the rest was history.
Time flies when you’re having fun, which is why I can’t remember if it was our second or third anniversary (maybe even fourth haha). But we planned a trip down to the Eastern Cape (Bushmans). He woke me up very early on a miserable cold day to go for a hike, which I’m usually always keen for, but the weather swayed my mood. After a lot of insisting and persuading, we packed a lunch and some drinks and hit the road. The hike was about two hours to Diaz Cross, which we had done the previous year, it’s so beautiful and is one of my favourite things to do when we are in the area. Wesley set up a picnic under the same rock cave we spent the previous year, but this year was much colder and I didn’t want to sit in the shade. So I sat by myself in the sun and kept insisting he move everything to where I was (with no luck). He called me over after a few minutes of sulking, I thought I had won and he was prepared to move, as I was about to boast about it, he played ‘somewhere over the rainbow’ and dropped to his knee. I’ve never been happier! It was so special and so well thought out, and I nearly ruined all his plans by not wanting to go on the hike and not wanting to sit with him, haha. We spent the next 2 hours drinking champagne, eating and sharing all the stories that lead up to this moment. It was the most perfect day, I will cherish it always.
Our wedding day would not have been possible without all the help from our friends and family. It was a very do it yourself wedding, from the food to the décor, and everyone got stuck in and made it beautiful. We went to Clarens 2 days before the wedding and had a stretch tent of nightmares to put up. As stressful as it was, and as much as it didn’t look like a stretch tent at all, the memories made with our friends and family, struggling with it for two days are priceless. Thank you to each and every person who came through to help that day, we are forever grateful.
When planning our wedding, we both didn’t want this big extravagant occasion. That is why we decided on New Years Eve, It’s much easier to plan a party than a wedding. And a party it was! The state of the venue and the people the next day had some stories to tell. We chose our Venue (Rebellie Game Farm) for the view alone, everything else was just an added bonus. In fact, we loved the view so much, we got the co-ordinates of the exact spot we got married tattooed on our wrists, now that’s commitment! We are so thankful and blessed to have such an amazing group of friends and family, to have driven all the way to Clarens to celebrate with us. It truly was the best day of our lives, a day we will celebrate big time every year, and memories we will never forget.
To our parents (The Thompsons and the Greybes) thank you for all your help, love and support. You made our wedding day more than we could have ever imagined. We love you!
It was an honour to capture your amazing wedding day! We wish you guys a lifetime of happiness, may you be blessed every step of the way!

Victorian Manor – Calvin + Happiness Wedding

Calvin & Happiness tied the knot at the amazing Victorian Manor in Cullinan! Below is a little bit more about this amazing couple and their journey together.
We met each other on 2006/03/10, we were both pursuing our studies in Pretoria, travelling from Kwaggafontein to Pretoria every weekday! One day on a Friday afternoon on our way back home, Happiness was alone waiting for the bus at Marabastad, myself being early that they too. I politely asked her if I can join her and she agreed, we then engaged in a deep conversation on our way home. After a couple of dates together we were engaged in a relationship and since then she was the love of my life!
I proposed to Happiness in 2012 after years of love and joy. Happiness with our first born, I then proposed to her and our families met for the Lobola negotiations.
Our wedding was a very special day for us, all the years of planning! Our dreams became a reality, finally in 2018/12/08 when we got married. Everything came together, from our amazing cake, to Happiness’s dress and my suite, our wonderful families and friends, our groomsmen end bridesmaids, our wedding car and for entertainment our amazing live band! It is a day we will remember fondly forever!
We would like to first thank Jehovah all Mighty that gave us strength and dedication to make our day possible. We thank each and every person who made it our day special and bore witness to our marriage. May we enjoy our endless love and forever be happy. In the Name of Jesus Amen!
I want to thank you for allowing me to capture your very special day. We had such a great time creating memories with you and I wish you all of God’s blessings for your future together!

Harmonie Proteas – Jaco + Maureen Wedding

Harmonie Proteas – Jaco + Maureen Wedding

Jaco & Maureen tied the knot at the amazing Harmonie Proteas just outside Pretoria!~Below is a little bit more about this fantastic couple!
Jaco and I first met in 2015. Jaco was one of my clients, while I was one of his vendors. We would chat on a daily basis about work. Jaco being the person that he is, would always crack a joke with every conversation. After working together for about 5 months, only speaking telephonically, Jaco sent me a message on Sunday afternoon, the 12th of May 2015, requesting a photo. I declined his request, after which he sent me a photo of him. I didn’t think much of it. We started chatting more socially, and he asked me out for a drink. I again declined, as I felt I did not know him well enough to go out with him, and Jaco being my client, would make things difficult at work. Jaco nagged me for about a week, when I finally decided, the only way I’ll get him to leave me alone is to go for the drink. I went for a drink with him one evening after work, and we just clicked… We chatted till about midnight when we eventually called it a night. The one evening turned into more evenings together… And the rest is history…
Jaco proposed to me one Sunday afternoon, while my parents were visiting us. While chatting, he suddenly said, he has something to ask. Not knowing or expecting anything, Jaco took out the most beautiful ring and asked me if I will marry him, right there in our living room, in front of my parents. I was shocked… my parents were shocked… and of course, I said Yes!!!
The most special moment of our wedding day was definitely the moment the chapel doors opened, and I walked up to Jaco… Seeing his face, his expression of awe… seeing me in my wedding dress!
I want to thank you guys for allowing me to capture your very special day. We had such a great time creating memories with you guys and I wish you all of God’s grace for your future together!
