Black Horse Brewery – Michael + Elana Wedding
Michael & Elana tied the knot at the magnificent Black Horse Brewery in Magaliesburg! It was an amazing day celebrated with friends and family!
Below is a section pulled from their wedding website about the couple and their journey!
Elana and I met fortuitously on Wednesday, 8 September 2010, the University of Pretoria’s Spring Day celebration, through mutual friends. Our friends had told us about each other beforehand, and although Elana’s résumé was far more impressive than my own, nothing could possibly have prepared me for the femme fatale that the Fates had delivered to my doorstep. I can still clearly recall when I saw her for the very first time, as she strolled in slow-motion down the panhandle of our driveway, the lazy afternoon sunlight illuminating a halo through her then silvery-blonde hair. Though I was instantly smitten, it took me some 5 years to convince her of the same. We were engaged on 17 December 2015, 101 meters underground, before the altar of the Chapel of St. Kinga, the world’s largest subterranean chapel, in the Wieliczka Salt Mine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Kraków, Poland. We never considered ourselves a conventional couple, as can be shown by where I proposed to Elana, our two year engagement, our Scottish honeymoon and our choice of marriage venue – the beautiful Black Horse Brewery. However, we had already dreamt up grand plans for our future together, long before tying the knot. We both want to further our education, Elana with an MBA, myself with an MMed. We both want to travel, and experience the world before we settle down. We both want two children, and more cats than are practical or feasible. We enjoy the finer things in life, quality over quantity, and sophistication above opulence. We complement each other in every possible way, we are each other’s greatest strengths, and together we make an indomitable duo.
Back to the wedding day, we started with the guys the morning for their prep. Michael having everyone in stitches with his wit and playfulness! We then spent the rest of the morning with the ladies before leaving for the ceremony. Elana looked absolutely gorgeous in her Enzoani dress!
Elana walking down the aisle with her dad had Michael in tears, a real special moment for him seeing his bride for the first time! We then had the most amazing warm sunset for the couple shoot. The first dance was inspired by the dance scene in the movie, Scent of a Woman! The rest of the evening was enjoyed with friends and family!
Thank you for letting me capture your special day. I want to wish you guys all the best for your journey ahead, may you be blessed every step of the way!
