The Hothouse – Dullstroom – James + Jessica Wedding
James & Jessica tied the knot at the amazing The Hothouse Country Venue just outside Dullstroom! What an amazing weekend filled with friends and family, stunning views and a great love story! Below is a little bit more about this fantastic couple in their own words!
We met in March 2012 when James asked me for a sip of my drink at a party called Tour de Melrose. We had so many mutual friends and acquaintances, that it was bizarre that we hadn’t met before.
At about 7am on a Saturday morning, James came into our bedroom with two cups of coffee. I am not a morning person and he definitely is, so this wasn’t unusual, but then I saw him put on cologne. I asked him why, and his answer was to get down on one knee and ask me to marry him. It was a very private proposal; in our bedroom over morning coffee while we watched our puppy, Luna, playing outside.
The most special thing about our wedding day was that everyone travelled to Dullstroom to celebrate with us, and some of them had even travelled from the UK and the UAE.
We want to thank everyone who contributed to the planning and organisation, especially my mother, who made the wedding dress and the flower girl dresses. James’ mother made the scarves that were given as guest favours, and his father made the chalkboard signs that were used to direct people to the forest ceremony and the reception. The ceremony was conducted by Sue Matthis, a long-time friend of my family.
I want to thank you guys for allowing me to capture your very special day. We had such a great time creating memories with you guys and I wish you all of God’s grace for your future together!
